External cylindrical grinder is high
speed
Capable of grinding external contours on cylindrical components at high speed, an external cylindrical grinder has sensitive guidance systems and powerful software.
The Danobat LG grinding machine shown at EMO 2007 has been developed for the production of small parts (length up to 400mm), such as cutting tools, hydraulic precision components and automotive parts Danobat said that one of these machines will be delivered to the German company H Stueken

Modular cylindrical grinders can be customised
A modular concept allows the building of customised cylindrical grinding machine that is ideally suitable for medium to large components and medium volume production applications.
The machine is assembled on a natural granite bed with linear motors on both axes, digital drives on all rotary axes and integrated motors, manufactured by Danobat, on the work head and the wheel head.
The wheelhead is driven by an electro-spindle of 15kW, which is water cooled and holds a 500mm diameter wheel.
The technology of the axes drives, the sensitiveness of the guiding systems and powerful and simple software allow contour grinding at high speed and in any process combination, said Danobat.
The LG-400 is the solution for productivity, precision and flexibility.
Main features include the following.
* Distance between centres - 400mm.
* Height of centres - 150mm.
* Maximum grinding diameter - 300mm.
* Maximum weight between centres - 80kg.
* Control unit - Siemens 840D CNC.
