Axxis International has extended the use of business intelligence and planning software by rolling out to twenty business managers.

Data Command, a specialist supplier of business intelligence and planning software today announced that Axxis International has extended the use of its software by rolling out to twenty business managers The managers, who are all on the commercial side of the business, have access to the Data Command system from the desktop via the corporate intranet

They are able to analyse margins by volume, rate and mix variances as well as being able to 'drill' into detailed information by customer, range, product and time.

Axxis International is a private label sourcer and manufacturer of personal care products for many of the UK's premier retailers including Marks and Spencer, Next, Tesco, Sainsbury and Superdrug.

Axxis supplies up to 2,000 product lines per year.

Many of the products are new for the year because product life cycles in the 'private label' sector are notoriously short.

The system from Data Command provides vital up to date information on the structure of costs and margins.

The system is used to allocate specific marketing and manufacturing costs to each product line giving a more accurate reflection of the true profitability.

Bob Sharpe, finance director at Axxis International commented, "The roll out of the Data Command system to the commercial managers at Axxis gives them more information than ever before about which products make money.

They now have guidelines on where best to direct their efforts." He continued, "The biggest benefit of the Data Command system is the speed with which it is able to process massive amounts of data.

You get information instantaneously.

Before we had Data Command software we simply couldn't do the level of analysis that we are able to do now." David Granger, managing director of Data Command commented, "In a complex environment such as Axxis International, margins must be analysed in detail to provide a constant and accurate picture of the financial 'health' of each product line.

Data Command's software tools simplify that process because they are rules based, flexible, can crunch numbers extremely quickly and yet are easy to use.

Once implemented, many of our clients, like Axxis, roll the products out to business users and reap the benefits of better commercial decisions." About Data Command - Data Command has been developing data modelling and analysis tools for nearly 15 years.

Its latest product, Absolve, delivers all the power of a database, but is as easy to master as a spreadsheet.

Absolve is used by Data Command's wide customer base for Budgeting, Planning, Business Modelling, Consolidating Accounts, and Forecasting.

It is built on a web-based platform so there is no need for client software other than a browser.

End-user tools give presentation quality reports which include charts, graphs, pictures and narratives.

Data Command provides full implementation, project management, training and support services.

Data Command is a privately held company based in the UK.

High profile customers include: BAE Systems, Turner Broadcasting, GlaxoSmithKline, Unilever and Take2 Europe.
