Semi-Solid Rheocasting, developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will be one of the papers to be presented at The UK Diecasting Society's Annual Conference and Exhibition.

The UK Diecasting Society will hold its Annual Conference and Exhibition on 1st April 2003, at the Manor Hotel, Meriden, West Midlands, UK Sponsored by IdraPrince Ltd, Halburg Guss (Bourne), Acheson and ABB Automation, the conference is set to repeat the success of the 2001 event

The theme of the Conference this year is Advances in Diecasting Technology, which has been specially chosen to encourage speakers to familiarize delegates with the latest developments, techniques and products that are available to diecasters throughout the world today.

Speakers include: * John Mickowski, Tymac Controls Corp.

* Nick Gibbs, Gibbs Diecasting.

* Dr Jim Yurko, IdraPrince.

* Andrew Norwood, Loughborough University.

* Fredric Dubois, Halburg Guss (Bourne).

* Simon Olive, MAGMA.

Themes of the presentations are varied.

Gibbs will speak about the globalisation of his company, Norwood will focus on new rapid tooling technologies and Dr Yurko will comment on new Semi-Solid Rheocasting developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

This is an ideal opportunity for anyone involved in the diecasting process to expand their knowledge.

It will introduce delegates to thought provoking concepts, and allow discussions and debates centring around each presentation.

The Exhibition, run in conjunction with the Conference in the same venue, is free to all delegates.

It will provide an excellent forum during tea/coffee breaks and lunch (included in the price of the Conference) in which delegates can network, view new products and liaise with suppliers.

The conclusion of the Conference will take the form of the annual dinner.

The bargain price of GBP 27.50 includes a presentation by the distinguished aluminium industry consultant Roy Woodward, who has 55 years experience in the industry, including 40 years at Alcan.

This is an excellent opportunity to further your knowledge of the latest developments in diecasting, and you do not have to be a member of the UK Diecasting Society to attend.

The delegate fee is GBP 125 + VAT for members, for non-members it is GBP 150 + VAT, which includes a one year membership of the Diecasting Society.
