Software decreases 'time-to-market'
DELMIA'S Process Engineering is a radically different manufacturing engineering portfolio of modules utilising the most current methodologies within an integrated IT environment.
The scheme has already been successfully implemented in the US, where last year Delmia signed 21 new partnerships with colleges and universities.
"DAPP provides powerful technology for schools and universities to enhance their curricula and provide students with the opportunity to learn about this exciting industry.
Our customers also benefit from this program.
Their future workforce will already be training on Delmia technology, giving time and cost savings," said Roy Smolky, Delmia DAPP Co-ordinator.
The first plank in the way DAPP works is through special pricing for educational usage.
Each seat of Delmia software will cost an average of 1% of the usual list price per annum.
The second part of the program is special, education-orientated software training and customer support.
Nigel Prue, Delmia's MD in the UK commented: "DAPP in the US has resulted in the creation of projects to prepare students for a workplace where process planning, simulation and digital manufacturing are commonly used as design and management tools.
Delmia software has been used in groundbreaking research in a number of different spheres.
It has also helped to forge links between academia and industry, demonstrating the practical application of this technology in realistic industry scenarios.
We very much hope that we will be able to replicate the success of the DAPP scheme in the UK.".
