Presentations and workshops educate attendees on the latest digital manufacturing developments, applications and benefits

Dassault Systemes has announced the dates and locations of its 2005 Delmia Worldwide User Conferences, based on the theme of "Innovate your Imagination." The North American conference will take place at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Mich., on October 12-13 Delmia will also hold conferences in Fellbach, Germany, on October 19-20, and in Yokohama, Japan, on November 29-30

The North American conference will feature opening day keynote addresses from The Boeing Company's 787 Information Systems Director Carol Pittman, who will talk about the deployment of the Digital Factory and PLM in the new Boeing 787 Dream Cruiser and an executive presentation from Nissan Motor Company entitled "Virtual Trial for Vehicle Development." The Aerospace Industry keynote address will be given by Ed Linhart, vice president of JSF Production Operations, Lockheed Martin.

Key industry representatives from automotive and suppliers will give a valuable insight into the implementation of the digital manufacturing technology.

Additionally, featured speaker Bernard Charles, president and CEO of Dassault Systemes, will present how PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), once seen as the next era of product development capability, is becoming a reality today.

Day two of the conference will feature three different industry tracks -- automotive/auto suppliers, consumer goods/telecommunications and aerospace/defense - led by experienced Delmia customer users such as Lockheed Martin, NASA, ABB Robotics, and Proctor and Gamble.

The annual conferences provide a forum for prominent representatives of the automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding, defense, utility and consumer goods industries to exchange ideas and information about the digital manufacturing arena.

In addition to the presentations, a number of focused workshops including a new automation workshop, will be held on specific industry applications.

Last year, more than 1,300 people attended Delmia's User Conferences worldwide, representing more than 200 companies and 15 countries.

The recurring themes throughout the presentations were the importance of accumulating and storing best practices and the translation/integration of data across product design, resource allocation and manufacturing processes -- all geared toward increasing efficiency and quality while lowering cost.
