Compact heavy-duty power connector unveiled
Deutsch, speciallist in interconnection solutions, has launched a compact heavy-duty power connector aimed at battery, alternator and starter motor applications within the motorsport market.
Overmoulding solutions can be tailored to suit customer requirements as well as providing an aesthetically pleasing finish and consistent assembly quality.
Boat owners can therefore eliminate the mess and confusion of difficult wiring projects throughout their vessel.
Keith Winter, Marine Business Manager at Deutsch commented, "The new over-mould cables utilise the existing range of robust inline and flange mounted Deutsch Industrial Micro and Quick Connect Connectors, therefore ensuring environmental sealing requirements are maintained.
Additionally, the compact design which we have developed is smaller than existing back fittings, but offers greater performance then existing boot adapters." Over-moulded in PVC, polypropylene and santoprene, the cables are capable of withstanding a standard temperature range of -25degC to +80degC, as well as tamper proofing and strain relief.
Due to the simplicity and compactness of the design, production costs have been reduced, as have assembly times, therefore providing boat users with competitive products within short delivery times.
Winter continued, "Deutsch marine is committed to providing both commercial and private boat owners with high quality connector and cable technology.
This is based on our experience in key application areas such as instrumentation, engine management, end user and installation products plus high performance connectors for data logging and telemetry systems.".
