Deutsch, a provider of interconnection solutions, is enjoying a successful technical partnership with Aston Martin Racing on its latest GT racing car Aston Martin Racing and Prodrive, motor sport and automotive technology specialists, turned to Deutsch for interconnection solutions when designing the wiring looms on the Aston Martin DBR9

With an output from the V12 engine of up to 600bhp, the design team were looking for a connector developed to cope with harsh environments.

The Deutsch connectors were found to be ideally suited for mission critical areas of the DBR9.

As well as being lightweight, they are designed to withstand extremes of heat, water and vibrations.

Prodrive Team Principal, George Howard-Chappell, comments, "We have found from experience that Deutch connectors combine both quality and reliability - two attributes that are vital for successful sports car racing.

The performance to date has been excellent over a variety of varying and difficult conditions." At its racing debut at the Sebring 12 Hours, the DBR9 scored a first-class victory in a very strong field, followed by a third place in its class at the Le Mans 24 hours.

Paul Webb, Autosport Product Specialist from Deutsch comments "We were asked to be involved with the DBR9 because of our successes with other competition cars.

We are very proud to be involved in such a winning partnership.".
