Autosport connector reduces harness
weight
The 12-41 connector was launched at the Autosport Show in January 2006 by Deutsch.
Deutsch, a provider of interconnection solutions, launched the 12-41 connector at the Autosport Show in January 2006 Like the 14-64 double density connector, launched in late 2005, the 12-41 connector offers more connectors than a standard shell, significantly reducing the weight of the wiring harness in the vehicle

Over-moulded cables eliminate messy vessel layouts
Over-moulded cables for the marine market offer a space and cost saving alternative to conventional back fittings and eliminate the mess and confusion of difficult wiring projects in vessel fitting.
The Deutsch 12-41 Double Density Autosport Connector uses contacts that are optimised for AWG24 to AWG30 gauge wire, allowing 41 connectors in a size 12 connector shell.
This connector is smaller than the 14-64, further reducing the size and weight of the harness.
The 12-41 connector features a locking mechanism and allows the gold-plated copper alloy contacts to carry the maximum 3A of current and a current leakage of less than 2mA at 1000VC.
The connector operates at temperatures from -55deg C to +175deg C.
It is also rated to IP67 for water immersion to one metre for a minimum of 30 minutes, showing no damage when exposed to most fluids used in most autosport applications.
The connector shell comes with a conductive black zinc cover to allow any shielding on the cabling to be continued through the connector.
There is also an optional RoHS compliant nickel finish.
