Stencil system extends surface mount flexibility
DEK has announced the launch of OptiGuard, a new stencil system that extends the acclaimed VectorGuard stencil range to deliver enhanced manufacturing flexibility.
Unveiled at Productronica 2007, the next generation Instinctiv builds on the proven strengths of the existing system to enable faster set-up and first time print, lower operator training requirements, easier error avoidance and recovery.
The updated system features a broad range of improvements including enhanced parameter editing, command availability and real time feedback - each designed to extend Instinctiv's ability to streamline new product introduction, monitor complex processes and reduce stoppages.
Offering an ultra high-speed interface capability and a stable platform for future functionality development, Instinctiv is now entirely compatible with a comprehensive range of DEK Productivity Tools and options such as Cyclone, HawkEye and 2Di.
By fully supporting these process-enhancing technologies, Instinctiv delivers significant improvements in productivity, throughput and value.
Despite the scale of these improvements, the new machine user interface retains its proven look and feel to eliminate the need for operator retraining.
"At DEK, our belief that customers have a right to expect more means that we are constantly looking for new ways to improve the products and processes in use by customers around the world," explained DEK's Software team leader, Karen Symons.
"Instinctiv is an effective example of this commitment, informed at every level by the results of extensive customer feedback analysis and beta testing at sites across Europe, Asia and America.
With a wide range of improvements designed to enhance the system's usability and functionality, this new release will build on the success of our existing software to optimise both operator and machine productivity.".
