Free UK show seminars include energy management

During the UK's Drives and Controls, Air-Tech, IFPEX and Plant and Works exhibitions, free seminars will range from energy management and plant safety to manual handling and Ethernet.

DFA Media is organising a comprehensive seminar programme with speakers from some of UK industry's most pre-eminent organisations.

The seminars will take place during the UK exhibitions of Drives and Controls, Air-Tech, IFPEX and Plant and Works, April 22-24 at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Birmingham.

The free seminars take place across the three days of the shows and will be launched by the EEF, the manufacturers' organisation's chief economist Stephen Radley, who will speak about the challenges facing UK manufacturing and the economic environment for manufacturing in 2008.

The seminar programme will cover a broad range of subjects ranging from energy management and plant safety to manual handling, Ethernet communications and gearbox maintenance.

These highly focused series of 20 seminars will also give delegates the opportunity to pick up best practice tips and valuable advice from a variety of speakers, representing a cross section of the engineering and manufacturing sector.

Speakers include the following.

* David Pratt of the Carbon Trust.

* Chris Dee, executive director of the British Compressed Air Society.

* Ian Morris of the British Fluid Power Association.

* Pete Dixon, RoSPA consultant.

* Professor Len Gelman, director of Centre of Vibro-Acoustics and Fatigue at Cranfield University.

* Stephen Barker of Gambica Trade Association, plus many more.

The DFA Media shows will be operating alongside with Subcon (April 22-24) subcontracting exhibition and MACH 2008 (April 21-25) machine tool exhhibition.

DFA Media said that more than 40,000 delegates visited the combined events in 2006.
