D2 Food Systems new dome packs
D2 Food Systems has launched the revolutionary ULMA Scorpius 600 tray sealing system complete with innovative modified atmosphere (MAP) dome lid sealing facility.
Offering enhanced flexibility and reliability, the advanced machine has been specially developed for high quality heat sealing of sister company D2 Europack's award winning dome-style containers - designed for a wide range of convenience food products, including ready to cook whole poultry or joints of meat Suitable for heat sealing both dome and standard packs, D2 Food Systems' cost effective, fully automatic new ULMA Scorpius tray sealing system operates at speeds up to 60 packs per minute, and offers the option of MAP for extended shelf life

D2 Europack's attractive dome-style containers comprise its Smoothpack smoothwall aluminium foil trays and new Smoothdome heat sealable, dome-shaped lids.
Thermo formed from APET, the transparent, high clarity lids offer significant presentation, cooking and environmental benefits.
They are recyclable while the special dome design reduces the tray height but increases the overall pack height by up to 80mm for maximum brand and on shelf impact.
In addition, because the product sits well above the rim of the tray, consumers can clearly see what they are buying.
The dome-style packs are available in a range of sizes and styles, and suitable for oven and microwave cooking; in fact, the oven cooking process is enhanced as convectional heat can circulate to the sides of the product.
