OEE programme to standardise factory data capture
Leading international manufacturer of ingredients and convenience foods is implementing OEE to standardise factory data capture, performance management and plant business intelligence.
Greencore Group, leading international manufacturer of ingredients and convenience foods, is to implement mvi technology's eventsengine RPM, IT solution in support of real-time performance management across the business.
Greencore employs over 9,000 people in four European countries and this strategically important project (sponsored by Greencore's COO) represents a GBP 1 million-plus, investment, spread over 36 months, with clear ROI deliverables and performance milestones.
The OEE programme to standardise factory data capture, performance management and plant business intelligence will begin at Greencore's 'Cakes and Desserts' facility at Hull, UK, and will be jointly-led by operations director, David Gallagher, and head of group IT, Joan Ryan.
Gallagher said: "We have very competent people in our facilities but we recognise they need the right information infrastructure to continually drive up quality and productivity standards.
Our ERP system provides excellent financial visibility and eventsengine (which integrates seamlessly) will to do the same for production operations.
Delivery of our business strategy will be enhanced by better information, including a more accurate picture of the factory network and its capacity.
It will allow us to deliver better service levels for our customers, which translates into better competitive positioning for Greencore." The decision to work with mvi on the project was taken after 12 months of intensive evaluation and market comparisons.
Ryan said: "MVI was the only company that understood the whole picture from 'top-floor to shop-floor' and that success centred on managing change - they recognised the information needs of production operators as well as senior management.
The fact their eventsengine product is 'out-of-the-box' is also great advantage; it means the implementation is swift and we can focus on business benefits rather than system design and build." Siobhan O'Farrell, COO of MVI Technology added: "We are delighted to be working with Greencore, and to have the opportunity to add lasting value to their 'bottom line'.
This further cements eventsengine's clear leadership in the food and beverage sector for performance management and shop floor data capture.".
