Safety gate saves space on mezzanine
floors
A space saving safety gate system primarily designed for fork truck loading onto mezzanine floors to protect personnel from falling and from collision with the moving load.
Having successfully launched their innovative 'Hi-Gate' safety barrier system for all high level hoisting operations, the Manchester based, Dale Lifting and Handling Specialists received considerable feedback from customers, which has led to the development of the new 'Compact-Gate' A space saving safety gate system primarily designed for fork truck loading onto mezzanine floors

Measuring the tension in lifting rope provides vital warnings when lifting equipment is approaching its capacity.
The 'Compact-Gate' safety barrier system is the solution to a problem encountered on many mezzanine floors.
How to provide a safety gate system without taking up valuable floor space when not in use, but still providing instant personnel safety protection whilst allowing fork truck loading access to a mezzanine floor? The usual method has been a barrier rope, chain or drop bar guarding the opening.
Which, when removed leaves the operator or anybody else exposed to falling through the opening.
This inherent danger has normally been addressed by providing the operator with a safety harness.
This supposes that the operator can be bothered to wear it and it does absolutely nothing to protect anyone else who might be at risk.
* Now there is a better solution - the new 'Compact-Gate' has been specifically developed to meet the needs of customers wanting to provide fool-proof safety for personnel working at height on mezzanine floors.
Commenting, Peter Wilmot, Dale Lifting and Handling's Preston Branch manager, said: "The Health and Safety Executive have made reducing trips and falls from height a major safety priority.
By installing the 'Compact-Gate' safety barrier system, a safe method of protecting everyone at risk is assured." A secure fork truck load landing area is instantly enclosed by a tubular steel barrier having a pivoting edge gate with safety toe rail.
Cleverly designed parallelogram side supports allow the space saving gate to quickly extend to form a barrier to protect personnel from falling and from collision with the moving load.
The system has been developed to suit differing situations using standard components and each gate is pre-assembled and tested prior to despatch.
The ready-to-install gate is palletised for transport.
