Partnership produces data controller and disk arrays specifically for the digital media market.

Digi-Data, a leading manufacturer of high performance storage systems and RAID controllers for large digital archives, utility storage and data protection, and All Systems Integration, a company specialising in pre-press integration services, have partnered to provide a storage solution for Southern California Graphics Southern California Graphics offers pre-media and printing services for corporate communications, designers, agencies and entertainment industry clients

IT plays a major role in providing a competitive advantage for Southern California Graphics by improving response time to its customers.

The requirements of customers, like Paramount Studios, drove the company to find a faster, less expensive and more easily accessible storage solution.

"We pride ourselves on our off-the-chart service levels," says George Mendoza, vice president of technical integration for Southern California Graphics.

"We needed a technology solution that would help us provide this level of service to our customers, and we needed a solution provider who also had the same service level commitment that we have".

Southern California Graphics looked to All Systems Integration to recommend a solution.

All Systems recommended an entire new system, complete with Intel-based servers, a dual Digi-Data T-2000 controller with a Digi-Data SBOD (switched bunch of disks) array.

It has 48 bays fully populated with 250-GB SATA disk drives.

"We used the maximum number of spindles to get the performance required by Southern California Graphics applications," says Ted Vahey, systems engineer with All Systems Integration.

"We also implemented a RAID 10 solution to boost performance and provide the highest availability".

Digi-Data's T-2000 is a scaleable, clustered RAID storage system used for rapid growth or high performance environments.

Up to four controllers can be clustered together to store up to 840 TB, with 32 FC ports.

"Southern California Graphics is a perfect example of how the right storage solution can truly give a business the competitive edge," explains Dennis Cindrich, president and CEO of Digi-Data.

"We were excited to provide a solution that balances performance, capability, scalability and price".

Digi-Data's scaleable systems work very well with the massive digital content produced by video, music and graphic applications.

Digi-Data's high-performance solutions protect these large digital assets, and are easily implemented by systems integrators.

Broadcasting, publishing, video pre- and post-production, surveillance and many other applications require high performing and scaleable infrastructures.

Digi-Data cost-effectively meets performance, capacity and availability requirements for both customers and resellers.
