In-house scanning and document management solution from Digital Vision secures archived documents and improves customer communications.
Leading investment and pensions specialist Merchant Investors Assurance Company Limited (MI), has succeeded in reducing risk around document archives, boosting operational efficiency and improving customer communication with its new document management solution.
In a project designed and implemented by document processing specialist Digital Vision, MI is able to scan, capture and secure in-bound client correspondence records, supporting new business operations and improving the company's ability to re-create this unstructured data in the event of loss or damage.
Working with Digital Vision, MI chose to use Hummingbird's Enterprise DM document management system.
The use of this system to make secure documents available online has brought a number of tangible business benefits, reducing the time taken to secure documents from three days to just one, improving back office efficiency and reducing the need to retrieve records from the static microfiche archive by 15%.
"We have to handle and retain a lot of correspondence from clients and partners", said Angelina Openshaw, Business Analyst from MI.

Digital Vision provided valuable expertise to ensure the smooth implementation of an in-house scanning solution and that staff had a thorough understanding of the functional benefits offered by the system, encouraging ownership of the design and commitment to the project.
