Machine vision software distribution deal made

Digital Inspection Systems have agreed terms with Tordivel AS for an exclusive territorial license covering the UK and Ireland to sell and support Scorpion Vision Software.

Hampshire based Digital Inspection Systems (DISL) have agreed terms with Tordivel AS for an exclusive territorial license covering the UK and Ireland to sell and support Scorpion Vision Software.

Scorpion Vision Software is an independent and open software tool making computers see and has been developed by Tordivel AS of Norway.

Hugo Harber of DISL said, 'Scorpion Vision Software represents the latest generation of machine vision tools, exploiting the recent advances in processor speeds and low cost vision components.

A production engineer could viably build a fully functional automated quality monitoring system for only several hundred pounds'.

DISL have been granted the rights to sell, distribute and develop machine vision solutions based around the Scorpion Vision architecture.

The company sees this technology as the future in production automation and is confident the low component costs and 'plug and play' nature of the Scorpion Vision products will have a significant impact on the UK manufacturing and production industry.

The UK machine vision market is estimated to be worth in excess of GBP 200 million with expectations for growth of 20% per annum.

DISLs first task is to setup UK sales channels by appointing a number of UK agents.

To mark the launch of Scorpion Vision software in the UK, DISL will be running a free seminar in Southampton on the 4th August to discuss machine vision software.

The seminar is by invitation only and interested parties can secure a place by contacting DISL directly.
