Advanced machine vision software to be
launched
What is believed to be probably the most powerful non-programming development environment for vision systems available on a PC platform will be launched at 'Manufacturing North West'.

Scorpion Vision Software version 4 will be available for demonstrations at Manufacturing North West, taking place at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton, UK, on the 8th and 9th of June.
A much enhanced version of this innovative product, version 4 contains a large number of improvements, including: * Optimal object location with PolygonMatch technology.
* Objects can be located with sub-pixel accuracy using a model consisting of four polygons - the model can be user-defined or a result from image-processing.
In both cases easy to edit and maintain.
* Improved training course with focus on robot vision.
* Enhanced 'Point and Click' for defining ROI, polygon models, reference images and templates, significantly speeds up tool creation.
* 15 new tools making it easier to implement powerful, robust and reliable vision systems.
* Improved gauging support.
* Improved and enhanced camera support.
* Scripting support for.Net objects.
Version 4 also integrates the recently released matrix and barcode readers.
Paul Wilson, Managing Director of DISL, said: "This major release further refines the most advanced PC based vision application available today and sets the pace for an exciting year ahead".
"The new tool set builds on an already comprehensive and extensive library and more importantly will open new application areas for us".
