A series of events to educate and promote machine vision software at various locations around the UK include workshops, training courses, demonstrations and presence at Southern Manufacturing 2006.

Building on the Scorpion Vision successes of 2005, DISL plans an energetic start to the New Year with a series of events to educate and promote Scorpion Vision Software at various locations around the country The programme starts on January the 11th with a free to attend industrial vision workshop at the University of Salford, hosted by VUtech , a leading automation company and a valuable DISL partner

The DISL team then heads South for a busy February during which the company will be exhibiting at the Southern Manufacturing 2006 show at Thorpe Park.

This two day event is a major opportunity for manufacturers to see the latest industry technology.

DISL will be demonstrating the new Sony Scorpion desktop robot - a small footprint machine that is capable of doing very fast visual inspections of small components.

Next stop will be Sony Business headquarters in Basingstoke on the 15th February where another free to attend half day workshop will be hosted.

This workshop is intended to be a taster for the following weeks' two day Scorpion Vision basic training course which will be run at DISLs head office in Southampton on the 21st and 22nd February.

March sees the next event, which will be a follow on to the February training course.

This time DISL will be running a Scorpion Vision two day advanced course on 14th and 15th March for those companies that would like to exploit the advanced scripting capabilities in Scorpion Vision software.

Attendees will see how an advanced multi-camera inspection system can be built in less than one day.

Finally, the Q1 2006 programme will be rounded off with yet another free vision workshop on the 16th March, at a venue that is yet to be confirmed.

These events are designed for process engineers, manufacturers and machine vision companies who would like to find out more about Scorpion Vision and how it is changing the industrial vision landscape.

Traditional machine vision technologies with dedicated hardware and expensive maintenance requirements are giving way to the new generation of modular, standardised, 'off the shelf' components.
