Multifunction Print Server
The DPR-1260 wireless multifunction print server is a versatile multi-port print server ideal for home office, school or business use.
"D-Link recognizes the need for small and medium sized businesses to benefit from the same powerful functionality normally only available in expensive managed switches," explained Nick Bharadia, Product Manager UK and Ireland, D-Link.
"Thanks to technology advances, we are able to integrate advanced management features into the new L2 Web Smart switches at an attractive price." Bharadia continued: "Over the past year we have strengthened our xStack portfolio of professional high-end managed switches and have now further strengthened our offering to the middle SMB segment to offer end-to-end solutions at every level." Both the DES-1228 and DES-1252 include 4 Gigabit 1000 BASE T Ports (2 combo SFP ports), and advanced functions such as IGMP snooping, 802.1x user authentication, port mirroring, Spanning Tree, Port trunks and 802.3x Flow Control to enhance performance and network resiliency.
In addition, the switches support 802.1Q VLAN tagging for traffic segmentation by groups to enhance network security and performance.
They also support 802.1p Priority Queues, enabling users to run bandwidth-sensitive applications such as streaming multimedia and VoIP on the network.
These functions allow the switches to work seamlessly with managed VLAN and 802.1p traffic on the network.
Useful features - such as D-Link's proprietary Safeguard Engine - protect the switches against traffic flooding caused by virus and worm outbreaks, while the revamped SmartConsole web interface ensures easy management and configuration.
With built-in SNMP-based MIBs, the switch can also be integrated in an SNMP-based network and polled to provide valuable information about the status of the unit and send traps on abnormal events.
