CNC auto features linear drive and
three-tool ops
Linear drive technology combined smart tool design - in which three tools can work simultaneously on the component - result in a CNC automatic for short or long component machining.
The new GD 12 linear by Gildemeister Italiana ensures highest productivity through linear drive technology and smart tool design Regardless of whether deployed in complete machining of smaller batches or large batch production in 12mm automatic lathe mode - including complex turned parts - the GD 12 linear presents itself as an unbeatable combination of productivity, precision and flexibility This is due on the one hand to the highly dynamic linear drive in the x-axis, and on the other hand to the smart tool design, which allows machining with up to three tools simultaneously

CNC miller-drillers cut 20% off machining times
With the highly productive DMU 50 / 70 eVolution, DMG has added a new dimension to universal milling and drilling machines designed to save up to 20% on machining times.
Furthermore, each machine can be tailored to meet the needs of the individual customer with the modular toolbox system (including supplementary special equipment such as a deep bore drill or a threading tool).
In this regard, the GD 12 linear is similar to its conventional counterparts in the GD series and to the long bed lathes in the GDL series.
In contrast to the GLD long bed lathes, the GD series does not operate with a movable bushing, but with a movable spindle stock in Swiss type design.
The linear drive of the GD 12 linear is deployed only where it brings the highest advantage.
As a result, the dynamics (over 2G) and traverse speed (of more than 60m/min) of the spindle stock, and thus of the most important machining axis, are effectively doubled in comparison to machines with conventional drive technology.
In addition, the GD 12 linear exhibits excellent precision and performance.
Among other things, the contact-free linear drive eliminates all the inadequacies of mechanical power-transfer technologies, which also aids availability.
The GD 12 linear is easy to handle for every operator, and its equipment can be quickly changed, because of its generously designed work area.
Furthermore, its five linear axes can be easily programmed.
Fanuc delivers both the CNC and the entire drive package, while the control-console is integrated into the overall design of GD 12 linear, offering great space-savings.
Highlights of the GD 12 linear include: * Maximum precision through linear drive in the X-axis.
* Complete machining of long- and short turning pieces.
* Short change-over times, easy operation.
* Extremely short idle times, high flexibility.
* Special equipment available such as deep bore drills as well threading tools.
* Deployment of up to three tools simultaneously.
