Offering a novel performance-spectrum in the compact class, a VMC includes a highly dynamic linear drive, a fast 12,000 rev/min motor spindle, chip conveyor and bed flushing mechanism.

The new DMC 104 V linear offers a novel performance-spectrum in the compact class, with its highly dynamic linear drive, a fast 12,000 rev/min motor spindle, chip conveyor and bed flushing mechanism, all available already in the standard version at a sensational price For the METAV 2002, Deckel Maho supplements its series of compact vertical machining centers with the new DMC 104 V linear

Just like the DMC 64 V linear, which was presented at the beginning of the year, its "larger sister" has been designed with a massive cast iron construction, with the traverse slide arranged at the top.

Consequently, the axes in both X- (640mm) and Z-direction (500mm) traversed by the machining head.

Thus, work piece weight no longer affects the metal cutting process.

While this feature alone would increase the dynamics of the machine, the new design has also made it possible to integrate the linear drive into the X-axis, which ensures the highest machining dynamics, with accelerations of up to 0.5G and rapid traverses of up to 70m/min in X and 40m/min in Y and Z.

Furthermore, the drive provides extremely short positioning times during pick-up tool exchanges, and thus leads to the short chip-to-chip time of only 5 seconds.

Since the linear drive is not only faster, but also more accurate than a conventional ball screw drive, the DMC 104 V linear will convince operators not only in general machine construction, the workshop and manufacturing, but also in tool- and mold construction.

To name only a few of the performance-enhancing features, the machine comes with an extremely fast 12,000 rev/min motor spindle, a bed-flushing mechanism, a chip-conveyor, as well as a tool magazine with room for 30 tools that can be equipped parallel to production time.

The following additional options should also be mentioned: motor spindle with 8,000 rev/min and 200Nm torque, NC rotary table, broken tool detector, tool length- as well as diameter measurement via laser, coolant through the spindle, and a production package especially for aluminum machining with IKZ unit, scrape chip conveyor, and spray gun.

CNC is Sinumerik 810D powerline or Heidenhain iTNC 530 system.
