CNC miller-drillers cut 20% off machining times
With the highly productive DMU 50 / 70 eVolution, DMG has added a new dimension to universal milling and drilling machines designed to save up to 20% on machining times.
The integrated machining solutions they provide continue to attract the attention of UK manufacturers and the results of recent Technology Days held at Iscar's Midlands-base serve as proof.
A total of 83 individual manufacturing companies, represented by 200 visitors attended the three-day event.
Orders for nine of DMG's machines were also confirmed at the show.
Six of these machine orders demonstrate the increasing interest in 5-axis machining in the small- to medium-sized manufacturing community.
The DMG Group's new DMU50, the smallest 5-axis machining centre with swivel rotary table, digital drives and hydraulic table clamping, accounted for four orders and the ever popular DMU50ev, a further two.
Three lathes that demonstrate the high productivity advantage of linear technology were also sold.
Two of these were Sprint 32 Linear, the machine judged to be the Best Turning Machine at this year Metalworking Awards.
Ian Cutler, Marketing Manager of Iscar Tools confirmed, "Customers who have taken advantage of our fast metal removal capability have reduced cycle times by as much as 50% on some applications.
The Technology Days allowed us to demonstrate this potential to the full and has generated considerable interest in our FMR range." The commitment by both companies to advancing this technology is set to result in more new products being introduced in 2005 and naturally even more open days are being scheduled to showcase this innovation.
The event programme is currently being finalised and will be published in the New Year.
