Good results from machine tool manufacturer
The Gildemeister Group achieved its best ever financial performance in 2000, while DMG (UK) has also got off to a flying start in the first six months of 2001
Having served his mechanical engineering apprenticeship with Wadkin Machine Tools in Leicester Hately chose a sales path with the company, ultimately becoming its sales director in 1986.
When Wadkin was taken over by DeVlieg Hately's role was extended to include European sales of DeVlieg products as well as worldwide sales of the Wadkin range.
In 1990 Hately was asked to join the 600 Group to run its Selson Machine Tools Division.
His brief was to turn around this poor performing operation.
The company's swift improvement prompted the Group to merge Selson with another UK factoring company that was performing poorly to form 600 Centre.
Within four years, Hately had increased turnover of the new company significantly, increasing market share in all its ranges year on year.
DMG (UK) is delighted to welcome an industry professional with such a successful track record to spearhead its sales operation.
And for his part Hately feels the company has enormous potential.
"In my opinion, DMG has the best product range in the world," he says.
"At EMO we will be launching no less than fourteen new machines".
"Very few companies in the world are showing that level of commitment to new manufacturing technology.".
