Mill/turn centre offers 25% cut in idle
time
Turning centres offer counter spindle, driven tools and a Y-axis options as well as integrated spindle drive and fast-indexing servo turret, ensuring 25% cuts in idle times.
Starting at the EMO 2005, the universal lathes of the CTX 10 Series now not only offer high-tech components at an unbeatable price, but - as a world premiere at the EMO - come with the expansion options counter spindle, driven tools and a Y-axis This means that - for the first time - sophisticated technology for complete machining now becomes available in the CTX 10 Series

CNC miller-drillers cut 20% off machining times
With the highly productive DMU 50 / 70 eVolution, DMG has added a new dimension to universal milling and drilling machines designed to save up to 20% on machining times.
Additional highlights, such as the integrated spindle drive and fast-indexing servo turret, ensure up to 25% idle time reduction, leading to increased productivity and efficiency.
Already today, the universal lathes of the CTX 10 Series offer customers efficiency in top form.
State-of-the-art control technology and a mechanical construction that is sturdy from the bottom up are ample proof for the reliability and flexibility of these machines.

Bar feeder has high capacity
SACO's new bar feeder reduces idle times and offers high precision and flexibility. Idle time for bar feeding to the collet is considerably reduced.
All machines have a 45 deg slant bed, which is designed in a rigid four-track design with linear roller guideways, for best operating conditions both for the dynamic cross-slide and the hydraulically traversable tailstock.
For the EMO 2005, Gildemeister made a good thing even better, by adding versatility.
In Hannover, the technology leader presented its CTX for the first time with a counter spindle and Y-axis, as well as with driven tools and C-axis, now making this successful machine series fully capable of universal complete machining.
This will also facilitate the winning streak of the machine on world markets, as the managing director of the Gildemeister Lathe adds, "If you look at the combination of metal removal performance, flexibility, speed and precision, there is no comparison in this price category." He also mentions such convincing design elements as the utilisation of absolute measuring systems in the X- and Z-axes.
While leading to the shortest possible positioning times and high rapid traverse speeds for the dynamic digital drives, these also ensure maximum precision and do away with the time consuming reference-point method.
Other high-tech features are equally well incorporated into the overall design, such as the integrated spindle drive for excellent acceleration and deceleration, and the fast-indexing servo turret (starting at 0.1s) with 12 tool stations, which can all be driven as well (optional).
For the control, the CTX 10 Series offers three alternatives: the Siemens 840D with the newest ShopTurn 3D programming software, the Heidenhain Plus IT with DINPlus (optional TurnPlus), and the Fanuc 32i with Manual Guide i.
All three controls combine high-tech performance with maximum ease-of-use.
All controls are not only equipped with state-of-the-art 3D-software, they are also mounted on the pivoting DMG SlimLinePanel with a 15in TFT-screen - an absolute innovation in this machine class.
A few more expansion options include, a counter-spindle and Y-axis, with additional expansion packages for bar machining with an enlarged hollow clamping cylinder, steady-rest technology for shaft machining, additional tool measuring or workpiece pick-up units, or driven tools on all stations - the expansion options of the CTX 10 Series permit flexible machining at the highest level, without compromise.
Innovations - CTX 10 Series: * More expansion options for complete machining.
* Y-axis for eccentric bore and mill-applications.
* Counter spindle for 2-sided complete machining.
* DMG SlimLinePanel with 15in TFT-screen and 3D software.
* Choice between three CNCs, from Siemens, Heidenhain or Fanuc - the right platform for every user with interactive programming support - for 50% faster and safer program creation.
* Fast-indexing VDI-servo turret with12 tool stations.
* Driven tools on all stations (optional).
* Digital drives for highest dynamics and precision.
* Integrated spindle motor (ISM) for increased productivity and efficiency.
