Vertical centre completely machines
large pieces
Vertical turning centre for larger diameters is ideally suited for simple or complex workpieces, regardless of whether small lots or large series need to be produced.
With their unrivalled speed and user-friendly operations, the new CTV linear Series, especially the EMO world premiere CTV 400 linear, bring users in the automotive industry and their suppliers an innovative machine that is setting new standards in vertical complete machining, with it's highly dynamic components and state-of-the-art control technology Harry Junger, managing director at Gildemeister Lathe, sums it up this way: "With the world premiere CTV 400 linear, we bring our customers at the EMO an innovative consolidation of features in the sector of vertical turning for larger diameters, making us even more attractive for serial production, for example in the automotive sector or the automotive supply industry

CNC miller-drillers cut 20% off machining times
With the highly productive DMU 50 / 70 eVolution, DMG has added a new dimension to universal milling and drilling machines designed to save up to 20% on machining times.
The CTV 400 linear indeed opens up a new dimension in the vertical complete machining sector.
Built with a chuck capacity of up to 400mm and with two feed units for greater flexibility in workpiece feeding, the CTV 400 linear is consistently geared towards the needs of the customer.
More evidence of its capacity is found in the wear-free linear drive on the 1620mm X-axis, which delivers 7m/s2 of acceleration for rapid traverses up to 90m/min with resulting lower idle times and a spindle with a torque of 730Nm, for perfect performance even in the most demanding metal removal operations.

Bar feeder has high capacity
SACO's new bar feeder reduces idle times and offers high precision and flexibility. Idle time for bar feeding to the collet is considerably reduced.
In addition, the very long X-stroke, combined with the second workpiece track - leads to a reduction of loading and unloading times by up to 40%.
To guarantee the highest degree of precision for such large forces, the linear axes in the CTV 400 linear is equipped with high-resolution absolute measuring systems, which make the time-consuming reference point method after machine-start up unnecessary.
Another advantage is the fast-indexing servo turret, with up to 11.3kW for the driven tools, which considerably reduces idle times.
This is especially true for eccentric boring and milling applications, for which the revolver (optional) can be equipped with a Y-axis with a stroke of up to +/-100mm.
In the CTV 400 linear, the machine base is divided into two halves to ensure the highest availability and maximum safety, even during demanding three-shift operation.
The compact and rigid machine base is made of cast meehanite, supported by a cast-mineral foundation.
This design not only delivers superior damping capabilities but also gives the required sturdiness for dry and hard machining.
The CTV 400 linear has a comparatively high machine weight for this class of up to 13,000kg, which sends a clear message.
The performance spectrum of the CTV 400 linear is enhanced by the (optional) multi-function plate in the work area.
It permits additional tools to be installed on this T-slot plate, for example tools for milling, grinding, boring, as well as multi-spindle boring heads or linear tool mounts.
Already in the standard configuration, an individual machine can be equipped, depending on customer needs, with a circular pallet conveyor belt or with feed and run-out conveyors, for the direct transportation of the workpieces.
The pick-up method combined with the fast linear drive continuously ensures shortest loading and unloading times and sets optimal conditions for automated operation.
In addition, conveyor belts can be installed beyond the standard configuration, depending on the workpiece range and the desired level of automation, in a diversified and functional manner, all the way to the realisation of automated production lines for the automotive industry.
The automotive sector has high demands with regard to the soft performance of manufacturing systems.
It is especially in this sector that DMG represents the perfect partner of its customers.
The DMG Messenger, for example, informs you at any time and anywhere of a machine shutdown, a status change, or simply allows you to check status, directly via email or via SMS on your cellular phone.
