Latest mill/turn centre to be demonstrated
A mill/turn centre with linear linear motor drives is not complex to program or operate and will be on show with the latest machining centres at DMG (UK)'s 2007 Open House demonstration in April.
All the main DMG technology groups will be represented at the company's April, 2007 Open House, April 16-19 in Luton.
Among the twelve or more machines being put through their paces will be four appearing for the first time in the UK.
Based on the high-selling DMU50, the larger DMU70 is a machine that is highly economical for machining small batch sizes down to one-offs, its price to performance ratio is quite exceptional.
It provides variable table options.
These extend from the fixed table for 3-axis machining of workpieces up to 800 kg, through a manually swivelling rotary table with hydraulic clamps, to an automatic variant for fast and effective 5-axis machining.
Optimised for the high demands of flexible series production, the new DMC55H duoBLOCK horizontal machining centre takes pallet sizes up to 400 x 400mm.
This capacity is complemented by even better stability, rigidity, dynamic response, speed and precision.
The DMC55H is also the first of DMG's patented duoBLOCK in the compact class.
It provides better performance in less space.
The new Ultrasonic 50 linear combines hard machining of advanced materials and conventional HSC-milling on a single machine and offers exceptional performance.
Its wide-ranging capability allows this new addition to be used to machine materials that could not previously be considered.
For example glass materials such as germanium, mono- and poly-crystalline silicone present no problem to this machine; nor do carbon fibre, carbide, sapphire, ruby, mother of pearl or agate, the list is considerable.
New to DMG's turn-mill machine range is the GMX 200S linear that allows the user to get from drawing to 3D piece part in the shortest possible time.
This machine has been designed to remove any pre-conception that its dual capability makes it unnecessarily complex to program or operate.
It comes complete the new Siemens SolutionLine controller with integrated ShopTurn programming, a dedicated turn-mill system that makes the GMX 200S as simple to adopt as a universal lathe.
DMG's Open House is a manufacturing engineering event that has been designed to provide visitors with a good return on their time investment.
Those wishing to attend should register on line at www.renishaw.info/dmg or contact Jane Watson, marketing manager at DMG (UK).
