German firm sells 526 machine tools at
EMO 2007

Claiming to be the largest exhibitor at EMO 2007, Gildemeister said it sold 526 machine tools from its 4000m2 stand at the show - worth EUR 162 million.

The largest exhibitor at the recent EMO 2007 machine tool exhibition in Hannover, Germany, Gildemeister, said it had sold a record 526 machines from its 4,000m2 stand The order intake worth more than EUR 162 million (nearly US$220 millioin) and was complemented by over 9,100 enquiries from international visitors

Visitor ranged from small subcontract machinists through the mould and die sector to 'blue chip' OEMs, said Gildemeister.

Managing director of DMG (UK), based in Luton, Tim Hately said in a report to manufacturingtalk: "Gildemeister broke all records for exhibition orders and enquiries and the wide range of equipment available, coupled with the new design and presentation of the machines, drew high levels of interest and comment that is set to generate a lot of future business from new as well as existing customers".

Of the 70 exhibits by the company, 14 were world launches featuring the company's distinctive modern branding that incorporates futuristic high gloss black finish and an increase of up to 80% in the viewing of the machining area.

The incorporation of the DMG ERGOline control, with its large 19in flat screen and DMG SlimLine panel operating console arrangement, enables the operator to easily adjust the position of the system.

DMG ERGOline control was also well received for its ergonomics, operation and clean presentation, said Gildemeister.
