Training workshop for DMIS standard
A revised and improved Training Workshop for the programming and implementation of the Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard (DMIS 5.0) with an introduction to the new I++ DME specification.
Metrology standard is being offered at half price
The DMIS National Standards Committee is offering the DMIS 5.0 Standard for the bi-directional communication of inspection data between computer systems and metrology equipment half-price.
This revamped Workshop training is especially designed for metrology professionals, including CMM technicians, specialists, and Quality Engineers, who need to better understand the roles of DMIS and I++DME in the ever-changing world of dimensional metrology technology.
The DMIS/I++DME Workshop will encompass the new features and capabilities of the latest DMIS Standard, version 5.0, the most widely used interface standard in the metrology world, along with how the I++DME specification fits into the picture.
Both Training Workshops will be 24 class hours (1:00 PM Monday to noon Thursday) and will introduce participants to the DMIS 5.0 American National Standard as well as the new I++DME specification, providing the individual an understanding of the structure of the DMIS language and how it functions with the I++ DME specification.
DMIS commands will be discussed which will allow the participants to understand the syntax and the most common options available and how they relate to I++DME.
Once the series of commands are understood, then the newly generated code will be demonstrated as to its function using either a simulated CMM environment or live demonstrations on a CMM.
The emphasis of the Workshops are the "labs" which offer 'hands-on' learning opportunities.
The basic topics of discussion will include: The evolution and current status of a 'living DMIS language,' interface technologies of I++DME, utilization of probing technology, establishing alignments, feature measurements and reporting / tolerancing.
