Miniature linear guides that offer high accuracy and longevity in order to enhance production efficiency provide extremely smooth, 'whisper quiet', single rail operation.

Industry is increasingly demanding miniature linear guides that offer high accuracy and longevity in order to enhance production efficiency and increase competitive advantage This is particularly the case in the semiconductor, medical and laboratory industries where small products are manufactured and often tested at continuous high speed

Thomson design engineers have developed a new range to address these specific industry needs.

The new series of ultra compact stainless steel linear guides, which is called the MicroGuideT family, are manufactured from 440C stainless steel and require little or no lubrication.

Accuracy is ensured by utilising the proven Gothic Arch ball groove geometry.

This ball bearing configuration provides extremely smooth, whisper quiet, single rail operation in addition to high precision accuracy of up to +/-0.1mm.

End user and OEM's will be interested to know that the new Thomson MicroGuideT family have been designed to industry standards as "drop-in" replacements utilising the same hole pattern as existing guides.

Initially the MicroGuideT family will be available in 5mm, 7mm, 9mm, 12mm although it is anticipated that this range will be expanded in the future.

The 5mm MicroGuideT is cleanroom and vacuum compatible.

Future announcements are expected shortly as a result of Thomson's aggressive new product development programme that aims to supply the broadest selection of linear guide types available from a single supplier.
