Lead screw overcomes positioning
problems
Ideal for use in a wide spectrum of equipment in which positioning is the primary concern, a range of metric leadscrews use an innovative lead nut design that eliminates backlash.
The new Thomson Neff metric lead screw range is ideal for use in a wide spectrum of equipment in which positioning is the primary concern, for example engraving, medical, laboratory and semiconductor manufacturing New levels of precision have been made possible by virtue of an innovative lead nut design that eliminates backlash

DIN 103 compliant thread forms are available as well as proprietary optimized forms in select sizes.
These thread designs reduce localized stresses and increase performance.
The new XC series lead screws use patented ActiveCAM technology to give a rigid stainless steel cam for biasing, that achieves the highest possible axial stiffness and the absolute minimum in drag torque available to industry today.
The mechanism also overcomes the need for the sort of anti-backlash mechanisms used by other suppliers, which in turn lead to high drag torque, poor performance and shorter life.
There are no additional parts or complicated connections to compromise axial stiffness with the XC Series.
And, since ActiveCAM applies very little axial force, wear life is increased and performance consistency is maintained.
The new XC series brings new levels of performance to the Thomson Neff lead screw range manufactured by Danaher Motion, however other configurations are available to suit a variety of size and mounting requirements [image].
Heat dissipation is reduced by low friction PTFE coatings, reducing wear and increasing the operating life of the screws.
The new metric lead screw range is available now, from stock and screws can be machined to meet customer specification within days.
Danaher Motion also design and manufacture custom leadscrews for OEM applications that demand special characteristics.
This can include custom sizes, materials and coatings.
