Haas machining centre increases mould production

Diversified Plastics has expanded its mould production with the acquisition of a high-speed, high-accuracy machining centre from Haas Automation.

The VM-2 vertical milling machine allows the design tool and engineering subsidiary of Diversified Plastics to produce high-quality moulds with a fine surface finish.

From these moulds, Diversified is able to produce very small, high-precision, injection-moulded parts that are used in the medical device and aerospace industries.

With a positional accuracy of +/-0.005mm, the machine can produce complex mould designs for various industries.

The machine is able to change tools in less than three seconds, and run lights-out or unattended.
