Datum Electronics has introduced a torque, speed and power indicator that provides a bright red LED 25mm high five-digit display simplifies test rig torque measurement.

Test rig torque measurement is now simpler and more precise using the Datum Electronics Type 370 Indicator The Torque Indicator provides a bright red LED 25mm high five-digit display or Torque, Shaft Speed and Shaft Power

The indicator display can be read from over 20ft across the typical test bay.

Using the display's variable damping and peak hold facilities, steady readings can be taken from fluctuating loads and peak events can be captured.

The indicator is simple to calibrate and has numerous additional functions set from the front panel such as two trips operating from the torque signals, bi-polar or unidirectional operation and variable output scaling.

For further analysis from the rig the indicator provides analogue outputs 4-20mA and 0-10V DC as well as a direct RS232 PC interface.

The outputs can be programmed to read average torque in normal operation or dynamic torque signals up to 1kHz in fast test mode.

Software is available to log the data direct to an Excel file or display it on screen during tests.

Supplied as either a rack mounted or cased indicator the Type 370 will operate from 110/240V AC or 15V DC.

It has been design to read from all conventional full bridge torque transducers and from the Datum Series 420 non-contact torque transducers.

System accuracy when used with Datum's transducers is better than 0.1% fsd.
