DS Smith sponsors Total museum

A DS Smith Packaging product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Mar 26, 2007

The Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising display at the forthcoming Total exhibition is a 'must see'.

Visitors to the stand will be able to pore over a fascinating slice of consumer history, featuring examples of branding and packaging from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Over 12,000 original items from the Robert Opie collection reside in the new Museum in London's Notting Hill, covering the history of consumer culture from Victorian times to the present - a real education for anyone involved in the development of brands today.

Terry Ousley, Director of DS Smith Packaging, explains: "We feel it is very appropriate for us to sponsor the Museum of Brands' presence at Total".

"In recent years, with the advent of retail ready, the impact of secondary packaging on brand image and in store sales has grown immensely".

"We design packaging not just for supply chain efficiency but also to reinforce brand image and consumer appeal at the point of sale".

"I'm sure, one day, future generations will look back on retail ready as another major development in the long history of branding in the UK." This not to be missed display can be seen on Stand 4680 in Hall 4.
