Leading print and distribution solutions provider will extend its end-to-end engineering document management solution based on Enovia SmarTeam to Oce printers and copiers

Dassault Systemes (DS) has announced the extension of the development partnership with Oce Technologies, a world-leading provider of consultancy and software services and printing solutions for professional document applications Through the partnership, Oce now extends the availability of its end-to-end engineering document management solution based on Dassault Systemes' Enovia SmarTeam, delivering a specific portfolio dedicated to printer and scanner management

"To grow with the needs of our customers, we sought to replace our digital archiving solution with end-to-end engineering document management," said Tom Egelund, executive vice- president of Oce's Strategic Business Unit Wide Format Printing Systems.

"As the premier Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution for small-to-medium sized businesses, and being highly adaptable with world wide availability and support, Enovia SmarTeam was the natural choice".

"Oce was one of the first Dassault Systemes CAAV5 Gold Partners, and the new Enovia SmarTeam project is an opportunity that grew from our PLM multi-brand program which has boosted our partnership," said Frederic Vacher, manager, Business Partner Development, Dassault Systemes.

"Oce is an excellent example of the way partner organisations can exploit DS PLM brand openness to link their expert domains and powerful PLM, in a win-win scenario for customers".

Oce Doc Exec EDM efficiently integrates Enovia SmarTeam's proven document management technology with Oce's powerful capabilities for importing and indexing the vast quantities of electronic documents generated by Oce hardware.

The application acts as a bridge between hardand#8209;copy and digital documents, helping companies make the transition to electronic documentation by enabling traditional archives to be imported and stored alongside digitally created information.

The solution, which supports integration with leading CAD applications such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office applications, will be presented at DEVCON CAA V5 Developers' Conference in June 27-28, 2006.

Oce, whose primary products are printers, scanners, copiers, their accessories, and related software, is building a natural migration path to Enovia SmarTeam with seamless integration to Oce hardware, enabling its customers to exploit Enovia SmarTeam's higher-end capabilities in Engineering Data Management (EDM), Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).

Enovia SmarTeam customers will also be able to use the future integration to extend their solutions.

"With this new offering as a result of the partnership, Oce's customers can optimise the value of their document assets today and have a scalable, robust PLM platform in place for managing their collaborative engineering processes for the future," said Roy Oron, vice-president Business Development, Enovia SmarTeam.

"For our existing customers, the future integration to Oce printers will expand the available PLM managed data to include copied and scanned engineering documents".

See the DS product range in action at the annual CAA V5 DEVCON Conference in Paris on June 27-28, 2006 where customers and partners can network and learn the latest information on the CAA V5 development platform for PLM solutions.
