Software for roll forming and sheet metal design and unfolding will be shown at EuroBLECH along with roll inspection machine and bending angle sensor.

At EuroBlech 2006 the data M Software and Engineering group will be presenting new products in the sectors of roll forming (new version of our roll forming software COPRA RF, a new and well-priced model of our roll inspection machine) a new bending angle sensor (Modell COPRA LaserCheck TT, which is fully integrated in the upper die) as well as software for the sheet metal design and unfolding (COPRA MetalBender) * Roll forming - we will be presenting our new software version COPRA RF 2007

This version offers new technologies for almost all areas of roll forming which could up to now be realised with huge efforts so far.

This includes the possibility to integrate drawing dies into a roll forming process, the automatic design of one or more cage toolins (lineal forming) in a tube welding line, new types of forming stands in the tube software package and a totally new way to design roll tooling by means of AutoCAD functionality.

The main highlights of COPRA RF 2007 are as follows.

* COPRA - projects can be linked with a document (drawing).

This means: COPRA has got a real multi document feature which allows for an easy comparison of different design projects or a simple way to design combination tool sets.

* Definition of swages and claws in the end profile.

* Bidirectional exchange of data between COPRA RF AutoCAD (graphical way to design the flower) and COPRA RF Spreadsheet (spread sheet based design of flower pattern).

* Object oriented design of roll tooling based on AutoCAD- functionality.

* Design of free defined rolls with undercuts or bearings inside; including subsequent roll drawing generation or assembly plans.

* Use of parametric roll types like cylindric or conic roll types.

* Use of drawing rings or dies.

* Automatic design of cage forming systems * New types of roll stands: four roll fin pass and five roll welding pass * 3-dimensional representation of COPRA - projects in Autodesk Inventor - comfortable data import from complete roll forming stands (DXF- drawings).

* Extended functionality in COPRA FEA RF (Finite Element Simulation of the roll forming processes).

The software for the non-linear, elasto plastic simulation of the roll forming process allows for the prediction of profile properties before the manufacturing process even starts.

The software gives information like material thinning effects, twist or strip edge buckling.

The user gets knowledge about any changes in material properties like work hardening and is therefore able to optimise his roll formed sections with regard to subsequent forming processes like bending or hydro forming.

Since its first introduction at previous EuroBlech show the software has been sold to more than 25 customers worldwide.

COPRA FEA RF is being used by steel producing companies, machine makers, custom roll forming companies but also by end users, eg car manufacturers.

In particular the new COPRA RF software version offers - compared to the current version - more than 60 enhancements or new features.

Features which we would like to show you in a personal demonstration - either at the show or during a meeting (at your site or via internet).

In addition we will be showing a new model of our proven roll scanning device: COPRA RollScanner Type 100.

This well-priced attractive device is designed for roll up to a diameter of 280mm and allows for a scan of profile cross sections as well.

* COPRA LaserCheck TT - data M Engineering has been supplying laser sensors for in-line control of bending angles in hydraulic press brakes for years.

The sensors can be linked up to control units from Cybelec, Delem and a number of other controls offered from machine makers.

These sensors are mounted in front and in the rear of respective bending machines thus reading the current bending angle from outside the sheet metal part to be bent.

At EuroBlech data M Engineering is offering a new system which suits not only new bending machines but is also suitable for retrofitting existing press brakes.

The COPRA LaserCheck TT is a bending angle sensor which is fully integrated into the upper die (TT = TOP Tool).

It works contactless (therefore no wear) and reads the bending angle from inside the bent part.

The new measuring method which is used with the COPRA LaserCheck TT allows for even short bending legs.

Due to a new camera system (also used with the know COPRA LaserCheck 6 system) the measuring accuracy achieved is up to 0.1 deg (resulting in bending accuracy of 0.3 deg).

The device will be demonstrated at our OEM customer's booth: Placke Maschinenbau in hall 12/B68 .

* COPRA MetalBender - our leading sheet metal application COPRA MetalBender will be shown in a new version.

Among the new features are: branches in the TDi library, marking of the bending lines in the unfolded pattern, export of the flat pattern as a volume model (for subsequent processes like notching or embossing).

COPRA MetalBender offers interfaces to the known systems like Cybelec, Delem, ToPs - and from now on also to BendingOffice.

COPRA MetalBender is available for Autodesk Inventor, Mechanical Desktop und AutoCAD.

The sheet metal software which comes with Autodesk's Inventor as its basic sheet metal application is, by the way, also based on data M Software's know how and technology.

COPRA MetalBender seamlessly extends respective functionality.

* Data M Software at EuroBLECH 2006, October 24-28, Hannover, Germany, Hall 11, Stand H27.
