Small Business Minister Nigel Griffiths praised the high performance of Sheffield based Independent Forgings and Alloys (IFA), when he recently opened its new heat treatment facility The facility, which was built with the assistance of Objective One Invest for Growth funding, will offer a niche facility for the company to supply forging and heat treatment facilities for a whole range of product sizes and materials for the defence and oil and gas industries

Touring the site, Nigel Griffiths said: "Sheffield's proud steel tradition has faced the toughest competition over recent decades, but IFA1s success shows that the future can be bright both for business start ups and for the steel industry in the city.

"I am overwhelmed by the phenomenal successes of IFA in the eighteen months since it started.

Their hard work, dedication and technical excellence have built up a world-class business." IFA Sales and Marketing director Andy McGuinnes, commented: "The directors of Independent Forgings and Alloys felt there was an opportunity in the British and European markets for a forging company that looks for positive opportunities to win new business.
