A founding staff member of Desktop Engineering in 1995, Vaillancourt served as the magazine's western sales director and became associate publisher in 2000.
In his new role, he reports directly to Dave Colby, Group Publisher, and remains located in Helmers Publishing's Peterborough, NH offices.
"Brian's proven publishing skills in sales, marketing and product development will be indispensable in expanding Desktop Engineering in the design engineering/manufacturing market," said Colby.
"He's been with the magazine since it launched in September 1995, and grew the business each year - even during a 'down' economy." "Entering its 10th year of publication in 2005, Desktop Engineering has grown into an acknowledged brand icon in the design engineering/manufacturing market," said Vaillancourt, a 17-year veteran of high-tech and computer technology publishing.
"I and my colleagues are excited to take the Desktop Engineering brand to the next level and develop new information solution products and services - offline and online - for design engineers in manufacturing-based companies." Prior to his joining Helmers Publishing in 1995, Vaillancourt held sales and marketing management positions within several business units of IDG Communications.
He graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in marketing, and is a member of the Monadnock Moderators Chapter of Toastmasters International in Peterborough, NH.
