DuPont Launches Luminescent Cosmetic Packs Concept
DuPont Cosmetic Solutions has adopted the latest advances in electroluminescent technology to bring the transparency of DuPont Surlyn resin to the fore.
"Working with DuPont allows designers, brands and packaging companies to bring their inspiration to life, and 'make a statement'!" Further information on DuPont Cosmetic Solutions' "Make a Statement" campaign, and its products and services, can be found at www.cosmeticsolutions.dupont.com Reflecting the science of material selection essential to luxury goods, DuPont Surlyn offers a virtually unique combination of glass-like clarity, functional performance, appealing surface-feel and ease of production.
As a consequence the material continues to find recognition amongst leading brands from the world of cosmetics such as Versace.
The brilliant, massive closure of Versace's new Bright Crystal perfume, made of DuPont Surlyn matches its contents perfectly: shaped like a giant, multi-faceted diamond, it is as captivating and voluptuous as the fragrance inside.
The closure was originally designed in glass, but the moulder G.
Candiani srl., together with the fragrance's creator, Euroitalia srl., decided to look for alternatives due to quality and cost considerations.
As the company found, DuPont Surlyn PC2000 provides a cost-effective solution: beyond the clarity essential for the application, the material provided scratch- and abrasion-resistance, stiffness and chemical resistance, and easy processing.
According to Prosper Zuffery, technical and processing expert at DuPont, "with Surlyn PC2000, moulders can produce thick to very thick parts of complex shape, and a glossy-smooth, perfectly flat surface, without defects." DuPont Cosmetic Solutions bring DuPont's "Miracles of Science" to the world of beauty and personal care by expanding the possibilities of its comprehensive range of materials and technologies to develop value added, differentiated solutions that enhance the consumer experience and bring more fun, emotion and well-being.
