Entries to Dupont packaging awards

A DuPont (UK) product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jan 20, 2005

Over the next three months, DuPont is once again inviting converters, moulders and consumer goods producers worldwide to submit their latest innovations for the company's packaging awards programme.

The competition has attracted hundreds of entries from more than 30 countries since its inception in 1986.

Entries, whereby plastics are an essential component, can be submitted for either the food or non-food packaging categories.

This year, DuPont is particularly calling on companies in the cosmetics and healthcare sectors to challenge the food and beverage industry's recent dominance of the awards.

Projects can come from any point in the supply chain, including packaging design, packaging technology and machinery.

The closing date for all entries is April 30, 2005, with judging to take place in May.

The awards ceremony will be held in August 2005 at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

Projects eligible for entry must have been first marketed, test marketed or put into commercial use between January 1, 2003 and December 31, 2004.

For products that are not mass-produced, such as machinery, contract orders must have been received during this period.

Entries can be submitted by individuals or teams.

Joint projects involving several companies are also encouraged.

The competition rules and entry forms can be downloaded from the website: http://www.dupont.com/packaging/awards/enter.html.

The competition is sponsored by DuPont, in cooperation with the National Food Processors Association (NFPA) in Washington, DC, and the Campden and Chorleywood Food Research Association in Gloucestershire, England.
