Manufacturer of mechanical hemming closure systems, DV Automation, has won more than GBP 1 million of orders for systems to be supplied to mainland Europe and South America.

DV Automation, the specialist manufacturer of hemming closure systems for vehicle bodies, has secured more than GBP 1 million worth of new orders from customers in Europe and South America The UK-based company has produced two systems for hemming left and right-hand wheel arches for the new Laguna Coupe variant at Renault's production facility in Sandouville, France

It is the latest order from Renault, who recently took delivery of four DVA electro-mechanical machines for hemming rear wheelhouses for the Laguna at the same French plant and for the Clio production line at Valladolid in Spain.

The DVA machines are specially designed to rapidly hem a vehicle wheel arch in a single, combined two-stage process which is completed within just 12s.

DV Automation has also been chosen to supply a pair of electro-mechanical hemming machines to Magnetto, the global automotive metal forming supplier.

Magnetto has also installed a further three DVA table top hemming machines at its plant in Porto Real, Brazil, for hemming hoods, deck lids and liftgates for the new Peugeot 207.

"This latest series of orders was won because of the high-quality and reliability of DVA machines.

They are extremely efficient and offer fast, effective solutions for a wide variety of vehicle body hemming applications," commented Mark Schlanker, DV Automation's business manager.

DVA is hoping to expand its business in the Far East after a successful visit to China's major machine tool exhibition, CIMT.

The company received a substantial number of enquiries from some of the country's key automotive vehicle makers during the week-long event.
