Ditone works for charity clarity
Ditone Labels have teamed up with Clarity, a charity providing employment for blind people, to help them produce their first Braille-labelled product.
Clarity decided to call on Ditone due to their experience in the Braille labelling field and their knowledge of Braille related legislation John Haworth, Sales Manager for Ditone, is a member of the British working party contributing to compiling the European Standard for Braille on pharmaceutical packaging

From October, Braille labelling will have to appear on all self-administered medicinal products, and there is an expectation that the toiletries industry will follow suit with Clarity being one of the first companies to take the initiative.
Clarity produce a range of toiletry and household cleaning products, and their modern, up to date technology allows all of their blind and partially sighted employees the opportunity for independence at work.
Rather than accepting donations, Clarity rely solely on sales to fund their operations.
More than just offering jobs to blind and partially sighted people, they provide both work related and lifestyle training, enabling their employees to live self-sufficient lives while also being able to rely on the support the charity provides.
Beryl Young, National Business Development Manager for Ditone commented "John's knowledge in this field means that as well as producing the labels we can act as advisors to our clients and ensure that they are fully informed of the benefits of Braille labelling".
"As Clarity are so committed to the welfare of blind people we are very proud to have the opportunity to work with them and help support their production values." Jeremy Robinson, Clarity's Chief Executive commented "Ditone's expertise in this area was extremely important to us and working with a company who are committed to Braille labeling means we've learnt about more than just the technical aspect." Ditone have produced two labels for Clarity's anti-bacterial handwash, launched in late September.
While the front label features Braille, the back label utilises another of Ditone's specialities, Peel and Read.
The Peel and Read feature ensures all legally required product information is contained in one simple multi page label, ideal for products with limited space.
