Advanced CAD and CAM features updated
New change recognition system features Mastercam X2, which will recognise if an updated model is imported from any CAD system and automatically apply toolpaths from a previous version.
Mastercam X2 includes a wealth of new features including the much anticipated File Tracking and Change Recognition System This new tracking system will recognise if an updated model is imported into Mastercam (from any CAD system) and automatically apply toolpaths from a previous version, but adapting them to the new model changes

DROs designed to maximise productivity
Acu-Rite will be demonstrating its family of ergonomically designed digital read outs along with MILLPWR, its two and half axis control system at the EMO show.
There are no file limitations to the change recognition and it can identify model changes in wireframe, surface and solid model entities, or any combination.
Not only will Mastercam automatically identify these geometry changes to the user, but will then update any toolpath operations affected by the changes.
* New smart high speed machining - Mastercam X2 already includes a strong set of high speed surface machining toolpaths but has added further enhancements including the following.

Millpwr 3 software and kit offer 3D machining
Millpwr 3 software and a retrofit 'kit' provide users of good quality turret millers a three-axis CNC 3D contouring capability.
Smart 'minimum' retracts - rather than a traditional Z retract, the new 'minimum' retracts take the shortest distance for air moves to the next cut, saving machine motion and time.
New entries, exits, and transitions - new techniques allow for safe, fast, non-angular movement on and off the part, even in particularly complex transitions between Z levels.
High speed smart surface machining - in addition to automated techniques such as flat area machining, new smart surface machining techniques cut the part in an order specially designed for high speed cutting.
Because these techniques deliver smooth, optimized motion, they can save time and tool wear on any machine - not just high speed machines.
* Specialized multiaxis machining - Mastercam X2 includes a suite of new advanced multiaxis toolpaths.
Powered by a new engine, Mastercam's advanced multiaxis toolpaths provide a customized, streamlined interface that is fine-tuned to specific applications, such as impellers or turbine blades.
Depending on which toolpath is being used, Mastercam's parameter pages display only options that are applicable to the chosen toolpath type.
To help our users stay ahead of their competition, Mastercam X2 includes advanced controls for gouge checking, which allows full control of the tool motion.
And you are not limited to retracting only along the tool axis; Mastercam provides several options.
Full roughing capability is also available for all advanced multiaxis machining strategies, including plunge roughing.
Mastercam X2 includes a whole host of new and improved features across its wide application range from milling, turning, mill/turn, wire EDM, router, nesting, art and engraving, and its CAD system.
