dn:Director 6.0 delivers a reliable and trustworthy "single view of the truth" by restoring the lost value that inherently exists in meaningful data.
Unlike other products and platforms, dn:Director is completely non-prescriptive with regards to how its various functions are used, but has the flexibility to be customised depending on customer requirements, providing pre-defined templates to address common business challenges, such as cleaning and de-duping customer data.
Traditional approaches to data quality have treated profiling, analysis, cleansing and matching as separate and siloed applications, resulting in data quality that is cumbersome, potentially slow and difficult to understand.

dn:Director empowers organisations (guided by Datanomic's flexible methodology) to easily combine data quality functions, seamlessly and in any order, to provide an end-to-end process that best fits their business.
Datanomic customers also benefit from ready-made templates that tackle challenges that many businesses share such as creating a single customer view.
Templates can be used "as is" or combined and tailored to meet the businesses requirements.
This ensures organisations can approach data quality issues both holistically and pragmatically.
"Data is the most valuable non-monetary asset an organisation owns".
"Each evolution of business systems has suffered as a direct result of disparate data silos," said Jonathan Pell, CEO of Datanomic.
"By managing data as a strategic resource through a combination of best practice and industry leading solutions, Datanomic helps organisations maximise both the value and utility of their data assets".
"dn:Director 6.0 enables users to bring together data from disparate systems to create a complete, coherent and future-proofed picture of existing quality information in a fully integrated, fully configured environment".
"This creates data that is actually fit for business purpose, enabling business decisions to be based on accurate, timely data with the added assurance of repeatable compliance where necessary, in line with growing legislative requirements".
Described by analysts as 'the most flexible data quality product on the market,' key features in dn:Director 6.0 include:.
* Holistic approach: dn:Director is unique in that its component parts are complementary and part of a single whole, rather than point solutions developed independently and then superficially integrated.
Other vendors offering data profiling and cleansing solutions require users to work around the fact that they don't offer fully integrated functionality.
* Flexibility: Supports the ability to intermingle audit, cleansing and other functions, and also does not impose any particular sequence of operations when auditing the data, which is the case with other products.
* Integrated Matching: dn:Director supports both batch-based and real-time usage, such as a web service, from the same platform.
* Business Solutions Templates: Includes a template library consisting of business rules that can be used directly both for auditing and cleaning purposes.
* Full Workflow Access: Cleansing can take place in situ, with the ability to allow workflows to be accessed from external environments, such as a web service, to allow cleansing routines to be embedded within front-office applications such as call centres - an especially important feature in supporting master data management solutions.
* Parsing and Phrase Profiling - Support for turning all types of semi-structured text, such as product names and notes fields into structured data items as well as dealing with challenges such as street furniture (traffic lights, post boxes, electricity sub-stations, porta-cabins etc) or other non-postal elements embedded within addresses.
* Preserves Original Records in Multiple Matches - dn:Director does not force organisations to adopt a 'merge and purge' approach.
dn:Director enables organisations to keep original records; a full audit trail across any process that allows organisations to trace every action taken and back track to the source records if necessary.
* Customised Extensions: Users can customise the rules provided or even build their own, as is necessary.
dn:Director also allows the creation and modification of new templates.
According to Gartner, more than 75% of corporate data held by most enterprises is out of date, inaccurate or ineffective for marketing purposes.
Throughout 2007, 25% of critical business data within Fortune 1000 businesses will remain flawed.
"Poor data quality within organisations can be likened to a residual pollutant, flowing through lakes and rivers".
"The pollutant, in this case, poor data, is rife and spreading through the majority of large organisations, which are heavily reliant on accurate data in order to have the all important 'single view' of the company or their customers".
"As this pollutant permeates across all databases and multiple applications, organisations are left with inaccurate and outdated records, which can pose a serious operational and reputational risk," added Pell.
"Worse still is that this problem continues to be perceived by many companies and vendors alike as an IT issue, rather than a business issue".
"Compromised data exposes organisations to both financial and reputational risk".
"Poor data quality leads to abject performance failure, often made worse when separate systems are merged together, amplifying a catalogue of latent failures from legacy systems".
"We've designed dn:Director to specifically address these critical issues at the business level".
As Datanomic is aware that both business analysts and development personnel are likely to be involved in data quality projects, it has provided appropriate capabilities for users of all levels and stages.
dn:Director has been designed from the ground up to address the pain caused by erroneous, missing or duplicated data.
In doing so, Datanomic has elevated data quality management to the business level, delivering it into the hands of the data steward rather than the isolation of the IT department, which in turn, ensures that the business and IT departments work collaboratively, delivering a complete picture of the organisation.
Users of dn:Director have access to a powerful enterprise solution equipped with a wide breadth of features without the need for technical skills to understand and deploy it.
Datanomic solutions enable Master Data Management, Compliance, such as Know Your Customer legislation relating to 'Watch Lists' and named Politically Exposed Persons, and Data Integration.
Time to value from purchase to deployment is both straight-forward and short, with some customers deploying in as little as five days and most customers deploying in a matter of weeks.
