ESAB introduces 'entry level' CNC cutting machine

An ESAB Cutting Systems product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Apr 16, 2008

To enable small subcontractors to cut and profile metal components in-house, ESAB has introduced an 'entry level' CNC oxy-fuel gas or plasma-arc cutting and profiling machine.

Small engineering businesses will profit from being able to cut and profile components in-house instead of putting the work out, said ESAB Cutting Systems.

So ESAB has introduced an 'entry level' machine, the 'Falcon'.

The Falcon can be fitted with oxy-fuel gas cutting torches or ESAB will supply it as an oxy-fuel package prepared for plasma-arc cutting.

The Falcon offers fast, flexible, efficient, high quality, automated cutting for plate sizes up to a maximum of 2m x 6m.

ESAB told manufacturingtalk that the Falcon is the ideal choice for workshops where space is at a premium.

The Falcon can cut steel, aluminium and alloyed steel material up to 100mm thick, with a maximum cut length of 6m, according to the cutting process in use.

* Control system - the Falcon has ESAB's Vision LE Controller, which includes a high resolution 640 x 480 screen, disk port for data transfer, an eight position joy stick, a pre-programmed shape library and a 16MB flash-D user memory.

The compact size of the Falcon makes it ideal for use where space is limited, said ESAB, and it can be installed quickly with minimum disruption.
