Southern UK manufacturing show expands
The Southern Manufacturing and Electronics Show claims to be the southern UK's 'number one' engineering and manufacturing event, having an impressive programme of events and attractions.

The new IP Printer launched in October 2007 has already become the company's most successful printer launch in Europe.
A revolutionary thermal transfer industrial printer that utilises smart cell technology, the IP saves time, money and materials by refusing to print if the wrong ribbon is loaded, and yet is quick and easy to use.

Brady will also be showcasing examples from its other industry-leading identification solutions including Lockout/Tag out for high-visibility, instant security; the Globalmark printer, capable of generating instant high-definition signage at the touch of a button, and PAM, the printer applicator machine developed for continuous, automatic and accurate placing of labels at either 300 or 600 dpi.

* EAO launch new fan range at Southern - a range of thermal control products designed to meet the increasing demands of compact, high performance equipment will be showcased at Southern Manufacturing 2008.
The UK's first dual, counter-rotating fans in 40, 60, 80 and 1200mm2 frame sizes will be on display.
The San Ace 60 and 80 CR fans represent a landmark in product development because they deliver nearly 70% more output than two equivalent axial fans used in series.
They occupy less space and require less wiring.
EAO, the expert in Human Machine Interfaces, is a global manufacturer of industrial switches, keyboards, keypads and custom-built control panels.
Also in the UK, EAO represents Japanese manufacturer, Sanyo Denki, for its high-quality stepper motors and cooling fans, and the leading American manufacturer, Grayhill, for rotary switches and optical encoders.

* Faro Fusion combines performance and value - dramatic price reductions coupled with a 15% increase in accuracy are claimed for the Fusion, the latest entry-level measuring arm introduced by Faro.
This has an accuracy of 0.0014in.
and is ideal for shop floor measurement and reverse engineering.
The system continuously illustrates the 3D measurements on screen and records the data to create a drawing of a part or machining component.
Also new on the stand will be a software solution that links the Faro arm to the Tebis reverse engineering package, widely regarded as one of the easiest to use systems on the market.
It was a logical step to link this technology to the scanning capabilities of the Faro arm.
The combination provides and extremely quick and accurate method to establish surfaces if the data is missing.
A major market for the technology will be toolmaking and tool repair for both press tools and injection moulding dies.

* Selectronix show new IP69K connectors - a company specialising in waterproof connections and enclosures will have new products on show.
They will include harsh environment connectors rated at IP69K, which are also suitable for sea salt-water applications.
There will also be new out door wireless broadband enclosures.
These incorporate adjustable mountings that enable the installer to accurately align the enclosure on a mounting pole or bracket.
