European packaging fairs results announced
EasyFairs, a European organiser of regional trade fairs, attracted 2,054 exhibitors (2004-05: 711) and 32,808 (2004-05: 1,000) visitors to its 19 packaging shows in seven European countries.
UK Food Industry Needs Better RFID Understanding
A lack of understanding is inhibiting the wider take up of RFID within the UK food industry, according to new research.
"Packaging is a fast-changing business and manufacturers of consumer packaged goods are always on the look out for solutions that will cut costs or add to brand value".
"I am confident that the number of visitors and exhibitors will increase in the coming years as our shows gain recognition and value across Europe." The 2005-06 results already make easyFairs the largest pan-European organiser of regional trade fairs for the packaging sector.
easyFairs' strict admissions and reporting policy mean that the visitor numbers refer only to unique visits by professional and trade visitors.
easyFairs has grown from just three packaging trade shows in three countries, so the growth has been exponential.
Quentin attributes this success to easyFairs' identification of an unmet need brought about by changing market trends and increased competition.
"Traditional shows have high wastage and exhibitors increasingly favour a more sales-oriented approach that delivers a clear return on investment".
"More and more of our exhibitors are using our shows as a platform to gain direct entry into regional and national markets where they had not previously done business".
"And that includes exhibitors from countries where we are not yet represented, inside and outside Europe".
"We expect this trend to accelerate as easyFairs becomes an internationally recognised brand," said Quentin.
The easyFairs packaging portfolio includes a range of branded products offering a similar format in all the countries where easyFairs does business.
In 2005-06 easyFairs organised shows in Belgium, The Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden and Italy.
They included general packaging shows (easyFairs EMPACK and easyFairs VERPACKUNG), together with events focused on packaging design and branding (easyFairs PACKAGING INNOVATIONS), on packaging machinery (easyFairs PACKTECH) and on processing, packaging and traceability (easyFairs PPT FOOD and PHARMA).
