A new touch-sensitive keyboard which is extremely tough, versatile and cost effective has been launched by EAO, the expert for Human Machine Interfaces The keyboard operates from under a transparent protective screen that resists cleaning agents and fluids, moisture and dirt ingress, and damage from shocks and impacts, making it suitable for a wide spectrum of applications located in: • aggressive environments polluted by dust, grease or ink particles suspended in the air, e.g printing machines

• sterile environments cleaned using ultrasonic techniques, e.g medical equipment.

• hygienic environments cleaned using pressure washing, e.g food packaging equipment.

explosive atmospheres which must be free of contacts and electro-static discharge.

• public areas susceptible to vandalism, e.g public-access internet kiosks.

The keyboard is extremely thin, which allows it to be mounted in existing machines.

What's more, the keyboard layout can be designed and configured out-of-box to suit different applications by using the simple-to-use proprietary software.

The customer can vary the position of function keys according to their specific needs and alter the sensitivity of the keys according to the material of the protective screen.

There is a choice of standard keyboard layouts for 10 different languages, a feature which makes the EAO touch-sensitive keyboard suitable for use across the world.

The keyboard, available with PS2 or USB interface, is compatible with both PC and Apple Macintosh operating systems. Request a free brochure from EAO ...
