Ceram Mortefontaine, the international vehicle proving ground and test centre, has been developing an important technical programme.

Eckel Noise Control Technologies played a key part in the re-engineering of its state-of-the-art vehicle test and rattle testing facility.

The hard surfaces of the environmental test chamber led to excessive reverberation levels during testing.

Ceram, and new shareholder Pininfarina, enlisted the help of Eckel, the Noise Control Technologies specialist.

Eckel's revolutionary Eckoustic Functional Panel (EFP) system was easily integrated within Ceram's existing test set-up to reduce reverberation build up.

Ceram test lab manager Eric Noppe states: "We selected Eckel's Functional Panel for its superior quality and performance.

"The product enhances our facility enabling us to continually push the boundaries of testing technology.

"We are delighted with the service received and have already recommended Eckel to clients".

Eckoustic Functional Panels come in a range of standard sizes; bespoke sizes are also available.

Only 30 to 50 per cent surface coverage is needed, which delivers significant economic benefits.

EFPs are supplied in mild steel, aluminium or stainless steel, the latter being selected for humid applications.
