Big order for materials handling

Materials handling vehicle specialist Electricars has been awarded a contract to supply 80 electric vehicles to Barloworld, including tow tractors, platform trucks and road vehicles

Air hoists contract awarded
JD Neuhaus, claimed to be the world's leading manufacturer of air hoists, has been awarded a contract to supply BOP handling systems for five jack-up oilrigs to Keppel Fels, Singapore.
The contract was awarded to Electricars based on four main criteria - quality, reliability, after-sales service and guaranteed delivery schedules - all of which Electricars were able to demonstrate through their expertise in electric vehicle manufacture which stretches back over 50 years.
The range of tow tractors offers towing capacities from 1.5 to 20 tonnes (the tractors for Barloworld will be three tone and six tonne versions) while the capacity to fabricate a wide range of different bodies, often to customers' own specifications, ensures Electricars vehicles can be used in many varied environments, from general industrial applications to airports, railways, health authorities, hospitals and theme parks.
Commenting on the award of the contract, Reg Mason, MD of Electricars, said - "We are delighted to be working with Barloworld on this particular project.
Electric vehicles are widely recognised as the ideal solution for short working cycles and situations where engine fumes might otherwise pose a problem.
Contract hire is a popular option, offering the peace of mind of a guaranteed maintenance and service package.".
