CAM automates more machining processes
CAM expands on 5-axis machining capabilities and delivers improved CAD data management, faster toolpath generation for prismatic and 3D geometry and new options for hole cycle optimisation
The latest software release of offline programming technology will be demonstrated on stand I8 a Southern Manufacturing 2008, which takes place at Farnborough International from 6-7 February Further enhancements offer improved accuracy, increased tool life and greatly reduced CNC file size; new toolpath control options enable cycle times and air cuts to be minimised

CAM saves 60-70% in machining instruments
CAM system provides efficient solution for machining electro-optical instruments for space applications, achieving savings of 60-70% on subcontracting multi-off orders.
Expanded into both turning and mill/turn environments, EdgeCAM Strategy Manager allows more processes to be automated, allowing design intent to direct the manufacturing environment.
Furthermore, when used in conjunction with the EdgeCAM Part Modeler, surface finish can be employed to control optimum feed, speed and depth of cut.
State-of-the-art visualisation tools are provided by EdgeCAM Simulator, with the ability to accurately model the machine tool and simulate all movement within the manufacturing process.
This is particularly useful with 5-axis machining, where small changes in angular movement may generate significant movement of the cutting tool, increasing the potential for expensive collisions.
EdgeCAM offers core support for the latest CAD products, working with native data from systems such as Solid Edge V20, SolidWorks 2008, Autodesk Inventor 2008 and CATIA V5 R17.
It is equally suitable for programming the simplest or the most complex components and offers full support for the latest CAD, machine tool and tooling technology.
Available worldwide, EdgeCAM is supplied and supported through a network of subsidiaries and specialist resellers. Request a free brochure from EdgeCAM ...
